Dr. Romeo, You have been identified as one of our TOP docs! We have identified select physicians that we consider to be top in treating our associates when they are injured at Wal‐Mart. We trust your judgment and you have earned our respect. We have been reviewing how to make your life easier when treating our injured associates and as of 9/15/15, You no longer need “authorization” before making a referral to orthopedics, physical therapy or diagnostics such as an MRI, if an associate is in need of these services just go ahead and refer them, set their first appointment, etc. There is no need to call my adjusters for authorization and wait for a response. This is part of a trial program, we will evaluate length of treatment and outcomes after 6 months.
